Bill Wilkerson

Since the Roundtable went on hiatus, Bill Wilkerson's plans to devote himself to a book have been delayed by his efforts to promote mental health in the workplace of law enforcement.

Bill was sworn in as a civilian member of the RCMP last year to advise our national police force on a mental health strategy. He also works with Toronto Police Services and the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police.

All unplanned when the Roundtable was formally closed. Meanwhile, development of the Roundtable's final report is now underway -- expect to see something in draft this spring and the end product next fall.

As for the book, don't hold your breath.

Depression among public servants Canada's biggest 'public health crisis': Expert

OTTAWA — Depression among Canada’s public servants is the country’s biggest “public health
crisis,” says a leading mental health expert.

It’s an affliction among the country’s nurses, teachers, police, military and bureaucrats at all levels of
government, undermining innovation, productivity, quality of service, policy-making and even the
relevance of our democratic institutions, said Bill Wilkerson, founder of Global Business and
Economic Roundtable on Mental Health.
